When a Musi Passes Away

Reporting of Demise

The Local Sadr Jama'at or Secretary Wasaya reports the demise of a Musi to the National Secretary Wasaya.

Review of Hissa Amad Account

The National Secretary Wasaya reviews the deceased Musi's Hissa Amad account and informs the Local Secretary Wasaya of any outstanding Hissa Amad balance, if applicable.

Prerequisites for Burial Clearance

Prior to burial, any outstanding Hissa Amad balance must be settled, and signed financial guarantee letters from two Musi family members must be submitted. Both are mandatory prerequisites for the National Secretary Wasaya to issue a burial clearance for burial in the Maqbarah-e-Musian.

Issuance of Burial Clearance

Once the outstanding Hissa Amad dues have been paid and the signed financial guarantee letters from the two Musi family members have been received, the National Secretary Wasaya issues the burial clearance.

Notification to Markaz

The National Secretary Wasaya informs Markaz of the Musi's demise and confirms the settlement of any outstanding Hissa Amad dues.

Acknowledgement and Declared Property Information

Markaz sends an acknowledgement letter along with information regarding any properties or Jaidad declared by the Musi on the Wasiyyat application form or subsequently declared.

Collection of Tarka Information

The National Wasaya Office sends a form to the heirs for completion to obtain information regarding any additional Jaidad included in the Tarka that was not declared by the deceased Musi. Additionally, details of the burial and a brief biography of the deceased Musi is also gathered from the heirs.

Assessment of Tarka

The National Wasaya Office determines the value of the assets included in the Tarka. Where the Tarka includes a house, land, or other real estate property, the National Wasaya Office works with the local Jama'at officeholders to assess its market value and equity as of the date of death.

Submission to Markaz for Approval

The National Wasaya Office submits the required forms and the assessment of the Tarka to Markaz for review and approval.

Approval and Determination of Hissa Jaidad

Markaz issues an approval letter specifying the total Hissa Jaidad amount payable by the heirs, which is to be settled within one year.

Installation of Permanent Katba

Once the Hissa Jaidad payment has been fully settled, the National Wasaya Office initiates the process for the installation of the permanent Katba where the burial has taken place in a Regional Maqbarah-e-Musian.

If the burial has taken place in a non-Regional Maqbarah-e-Musian, the family arranges for the installation of the Katba after obtaining approval from the National Wasaya Office. The cost is then reimbursed by the National Headquarters.

Final Settlement and Memorial Stone

Markaz is notified once the Hissa Jaidad has been fully settled. A memorial stone is subsequently placed on the wall at Bahishti Maqbarah, Rabwah or Qadian, in memory of the deceased Musi.
